The Brief
The People's History Museum is based in Manchester, UK. It is the national museum of democracy, telling the story of its development in Britain: past, present, and future.
Their exhibit 'Represent! Voices 100 Years On` was launched in Summer 2018 to shed light on those who campaigned for better representation; most famously the suffragists and the militant suffragettes.
PHM approached us as they wanted a way of reaching out to a wider audience to experience the exhibit.
The Solution
We worked with PHM to develop a six part podcast series. The concept was to tell the stories of the exhibit in audio form allowing a wider audience to gain deep insights and understanding into the issues and topics discussed.
The podcast utilised the museums team of passionate curators to present the podcast, giving it a personal feel. Audio is the perfect medium for connecting with people on a deep level to discuss matters that are important to us all so episodes were pre-recorded, fully produced and then released according to a schedule between December and January. Overall the campaign was a huge success and proved to be a great accompaniment to the physical exhibition.
